Bethany hosts breakfast

Bethany Lutheran Church in Star Prairie will host a pancake breakfast tailored especially for this year's Wisconsin fishing opener, May 4.

Starting at 7 a.m., everyone in attendance will be entered into a door prize where winners will be asked, "worms or leeches?"

Winning your bait is just the beginning of the fishing theme. Children can try their hand at the fish pond, and the adults can test their knowledge with the sportsman quiz.

Long-time Bethany member and breakfast organizer, Rick Anderson, claims, "no one has ever answered all four trivia questions correctly."

Fishermen concerned with this year's cold temperatures can warm up with a cup of coffee roasted by This Old Store in Star Prairie and share their stories of the one that got away.

Attendees don't have to own a tackle box to enjoy the breakfast though. The menu will include pancakes, scrambled eggs with Canadian bacon, fried potatoes, fruit and yogurt.

Food will be served until 11 a.m. and a free will offering will be accepted. Bethany Lutheran is located on Bridge Avenue in Star Prairie, just west of Highway 65.
