In the wake of the fire that has closed the St. Croix Central Elementary School building, the community is coming together to support the school. Several area schools, including Somerset and New Richmond schools, are collecting donations of school supplies for St. Croix Central Elementary students and staff to use, when they start classes again Monday, at Rolling Ridges Girl Scout camp, approximately 5 miles northwest of Roberts.
Somerset Superintendent Randy Rosburg said Somerset Elementary School teachers are also gathering instructional materials to donate to St. Croix Central.
"It's nice to know that everybody is here for everybody, and we're not limited by our district boundaries," Rosburg said, "But we are reaching out and just helping."
Somerset second grade students are also writing letters and drawing pictures to send to St. Croix
Central with the donations.
