Laser Center helps clients 'look good, feel great'

Beth Slater, a certified laserologist, provides a variety of laser services at the new Laser Center of New Richmond.

A new medispa has opened in New Richmond and is ready to assist customers in a variety of ways.

The Laser Center of New Richmond has taken up residence in the lower level of a professional office building at 227 Meridian Drive, Suite 4.

Among the services offered by Beth Slater, certified laserologist, and the staff at the center are laser hair removal, laser facial services, laser resurfacing and laser vein treatment.

"We are excited to make a difference in people's lives," she said. "We want to help people look good and feel great."

Slater said the Laser Center is set up with state-of-the-art equipment to get the job done right. For the hair removal service, real laser equipment is used - not IPL (intense pulsed light) equipment that is much less effective, she said.

"There's a difference in the depth that it will penetrate," Beth Slater said. "IPLs are not going to be as effective as lasers."

Botox and Juvederm injections are also provided at the Laser Center. Dr. Dylan Coe, who is currently the emergency room physician at Amery Regional Medical Center, is on staff for these types of services and others.

The center also offers massage therapy. Roy Slater, Beth's husband and co-owner, provides the massage services in New Richmond. Roy Slater is an experienced massage therapist who also is an instructor in the massage therapy field at Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College campuses in New Richmond and Rice Lake.

"He's well known and has a large client base already," Beth Slater said.

Beth Slater said the couple chose to open the Laser Center of New Richmond because they recognize that the community is growing. She said plans for a new St. Croix River bridge at Stillwater add to the attractiveness of the community.

"It's been a year of planning all of the details," she said, "starting from nothing and then accomplishing all that's involved in getting a place ready for business."

The Slaters have completely redone the new office space to make it inviting to clients and pleasing to the eye. The Laser Center is decorated, in part, with distinctive paintings from Amery artist Greg Rochester. Soft music and soothing colors dominate the waiting area and treatment rooms.

"We wanted to give it a high-end feeling," Beth Slater explained. "It's very clean, friendly and warm."

This is not the Slater's first business venture. They previously operated massage and laser businesses in Florida.

Six years ago they purchased the Amery Florist business and moved to the area. They recently decided to get back into the laser and massage business, Beth Slater said. They officially opened for business in New Richmond about a month ago.

The Laser Center is celebrating its grand opening this weekend, Friday from 3-6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The business is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and by appointment. For more information, call 715-246-9110.
