Veterans outreach events will be held by the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs next week at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and UW-Stout.
The Veterans' Benefit Open House will be held in the University Commons on the campus of UW-River Falls on Tuesday, Nov. 11 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. in conjunction with other Veterans Days events at the university.
A similar event will be held on the campus of UW-Stout on Thursday, Nov. 13 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. That event will be held at the Memorial Student Center located at 302 10th Ave. in Menomonie.
The events are being co-hosted by the two universities.
The open houses will provide veterans with information on and assistance with federal and state veterans' education and other benefits, programs and services.
Providers at this event will include health care staff from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs who will address the needs of veterans recently returned from active duty.
WDVA staff and school veterans' officials will provide information and be available to discuss federal and state education programs and services, and to assist veterans in applying for benefits.
Additional representatives will include the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development and county Veterans Services offices along with various veterans' service organizations.
WDVA officials are encouraging current and prospective student-veterans and veterans from the surrounding areas, as well as, their families to attend.
