Alcides Escobar has the best night of career

Alcides Escobar had the best night of his young career, as the Milwaukee Brewers downed the Chicago Cubs 9-5 at Wrigley Field.

Escobar, the Brewers' top prospect who was called up last month, went 4-5 with a double, three RBI's, and two runs scored.

In the field, Escobar, 21, snuffed out a Cubs' rally in the third inning with a diving stab of a ground ball, and he helped turn a pair of double plays.

Braden Looper won his career-high 13th game, despite giving up five runs in five innings on nine hits and three walks.

Both teams had 13 hits, as the Brewers scored five runs in the first three innings to pull in front for good.

Aramis Ramirez hit a two-run homer for the Cubs, who snapped a three-game winning streak and fell 6.5 games behind Colorado in the National League Wild Card race.

Rich Harden took the loss, giving up five runs in three innings. He's now 9-9. Milwaukee snapped a two-game losing streak.

They'll go for a split of their four-game series with the Cubs this afternoon.

Right-hander Dave Bush goes against Cubs' rookie right-hander Randy Wells.
