Packers hand Tampa Bay its first win; Rodgers gets sacked six times

The Green Bay Packers handed Tampa Bay its first win yesterday, 38-28 at Raymond James Stadium.

Aaron Rodgers was sacked six more times for a league-high season total of 37. He tossed three interceptions, including one for a touchdown.

Rodgers did throw for 266 yards and a pair of scores, including a 79-yarder to James Jones in the opening minutes.

And Rodgers had a 12-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter, putting Green Bay up by 11.

But the Buccaneers scored the game's final 21 points, as the Packers faded to their second straight loss and the fourth in their last five in Tampa.

Rookie quarterback Josh Freeman threw for 205 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception in his NFL debut.

Ronde Barber scored on a blocked punt, as Tampa won despite getting just 279 total yards to the Pack's 404.

Raheem Morris, the league's youngest coach at 33, won his first career game as the Bucs improved to 1-7.

Ahman Green ran for 45 yards and became the Packers' all-time leading rusher, breaking Jim Taylor's career mark of 827 yards.

The Packers fell to 4-4.

They're still tied with Chicago for second in the NFC North Division, both three games behind idle Minnesota.

The Packers will play three of their next four at home, starting Sunday against Dallas.

Ryan Grant had 96 rushing yards and a touchdown for the Packers. Donald Driver caught Rodgers' other scoring pass, and Greg Jennings had five catches for 61 yards. Bucs' rookie Sammie Stroughter caught his first pro touchdown pass.

Green Bay suffered at least two key injuries.

Right tackle Mark Tauscher left in the third quarter, when he sprained the same knee on which he tore a ligament last December.

But he did not believe it was anything major.

Tauscher was making his first start after re-signing with the Pack in October. Also, outside linebacker Aaron Kampman left after taking a blow to the head. Receiver Biren Ealy took about four snaps in his Packers' debut, but did not have a ball thrown his way.

Ealy was promoted from the practice squad on Saturday, after center Jason Spitz was ruled out for the year with his lingering lower back injury.
