Eau Claire North senior commits to Badgers
A sophomore center from Eau Claire has given his verbal commitment to the University of Wisconsin men's basketball team.
Evan Anderson said he called Badgers senior Brian Butch on Saturday and Butch said if he wanted to go to Madison, Anderson should just do it and not wait.
The 6-11 Anderson just turned 16 and he's ranked fifth nationally for sophomore centers by Rivals.com.
Anderson helped Eau Claire North make the state Division 1 quarter-finals this spring.
He had 12 points and six rebounds in a loss to state champion Wauwatosa East.
Anderson played one year at Stanley-Boyd High School before moving to Eau Claire. His AAU coach, Ritchie Davis, says Anderson dominates most players in the post.
Anderson reportedly chose Wisconsin over Kansas, Boston College, and Kentucky.
It's the second and last oral commitment for the 2010 Badger recruiting class.
