McCain visit to La Crosse being planned

It has not been announced yet - but Republican White House candidate John McCain is said to be planning a visit to La Crosse on Friday.

The La Crosse Tribune says the campaign is still trying to nail down an exact location.

The downtown Riverside Park is among the places being considered.

McCain's Democratic opponent, Barack Obama, spoke to an estimated 15,000 people last Wednesday at a downtown La Crosse intersection.

If it can be arranged, it would be McCain's third stop in a Wisconsin swing that starts in Waukesha on Thursday morning with a town hall meeting and continues Thursday afternoon with an airport rally in Mosinee.

McCain's running mate, Sarah Palin, will be at the event in Waukesha but not the one in Mosinee.
