Badgers get decisive win against Illni to end losing streak
Jason Bohannon broke a Kohl Center record last night, as the University of Wisconsin men's basketball team ended a six-game losing streak with a 63-50 win over 23rd-ranked Illinois.
It was the Badgers' first victory since Jan. 7.
Bohannon made of 6-of-7 from three-point range. His percentage of 85-point-seven was an arena record and the second-highest ever by a Badger with more than six attempts. Larry Hisle went 7-7 from beyond the arc in 1990.
The Badgers went up by 12 at the half, and 16 later on. Bohannon, a junior guard, tied a career-high with 20 points for Wisconsin.
Starter Keaton Nankivil sat out with a lower leg injury, and Jon Leuer had 15 points and six rebounds in his place.
The Badger defense held Illinois to just 33-percent from the floor. Mike Davis had 14 points and 11 rebounds for Illinois, which fell to 6-4 in the Big Ten and 18-5 overall.
The Badgers improved to 4-6 in conference play and 13-9 overall. They'll play at Penn State on Sunday.
