Kwik Trip announces major expansion of its bakery
Kwik Trip says it will double the size of its bakery, and add more than 100 jobs at its support center in La Crosse.
The convenience store chain says it's had tremendous growth in its bakery sales.
And it's resulting in a $22-23 million dollar expansion.
The La Crosse Plan Commission was scheduled to vote Monday on vacating part of a street for the project but not enough members showed up, so the meeting was called off.
Company vice president Steve Loehr says the Kwik Trip board must still finalize the project next month.
But preliminary work could begin next month, and the expanded bakery is expected to be ready by next summer.
Kwik Trip has 353 convenience stores and 37 Tobacco Outlet shops in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa.
