Traffic rerouted after crash at Highway 64 and Highway 65

Traffic was rerouted just after 3 p.m. Monday for a crash at the intersection of Highway 64 and Highway 65 on the north side of New Richmond.

Initial reports indicated that as many as nine people, including some children, sustained injuries after a pickup truck and minivan collided in the intersection. Airbags deployed in at least one of the vehicles. Three ambulances were dispatched to the scene. It was unclear whether any patients were transported from the scene.

Officers closed a section of Highway 65 between North Shore Drive and Highway 65 while crews assessed patients and removed vehicles and debris at the scene.

Also responding were personnel from the New Richmond Police Departmen, St. Croix County Sheriff's Office and New Richmond Fire & Rescue,
