UPDATE: Body of Roberts man found at railroad bridge in New Richmond

The body of a white 26-year-old man was found hanging from beneath the railroad bridge over the Willow River in New Richmond on Tuesday morning, according to New Richmond Police Chief Mark Samelstad.

The man was identified as Kyle Edward Mara of Roberts, according to a police department press release. No foul play is suspected at this time.

Personnel from the New Richmond Police Department, New Richmond Fire Department, New Richmond Area EMS, St. Croix County Sheriff’s Department and the St. Croix County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the railroad bridge near the 300 block of North Knowles Avenue just before 8 a.m.

Canadian National rail traffic through the city was held up for about an hour while authorities recovered the body and investigated the scene.

The incident remains under investigation by the New Richmond Police and the St. Croix County Medical Examiner's Office.
