UPDATE: Runaway 15-year-old girl home safe

A New Richmond 15-year-old girl is home safe after relatives and law enforcement officials spent four days trying to track her down, according to Chief Deputy Scott Knudson of the St. Croix County Sheriff's Office.

Knudson said via email that runaway teen Tianna N. McDermott was found Wednesday night in the Amery area. 

Rachel Thorp Sorenson posted the following comment at about 11:15 p.m. on Wednesday on the News' Facebook post about the girl:

"Tianna has been found and is home safe with us. I want to thank each and everyone of you for your support over these last 4days with all the reposts and information."



The St. Croix County Sheriff's Office is trying to find a 15-year-old New Richmond girl who is believed to be a runaway. Authorities released the following appeal to local media on Wednesday afternoon:

"The St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a juvenile runaway. We are attempting to locate Tianna N. McDermott, age 15, of New Richmond.  She is believed to be in the New Richmond or Osceola area.  Unknown who she may be with. 

"She has been missing since Sunday, June 8, when she was reported as a runaway from Charlotte County in Florida.  She has been seen in the local area, but she has not returned to her mother’s residence near New Richmond.  She is described as being 5’1", 110 lbs., originally had dark brown hair, but we believe she attempted to dye it red in color. 

"If you know of her whereabouts, please contact the St. Croix County Emergency Communications Center at 715-386-4701."
