Here it comes: Snow possible Friday in eastern Minn. and western Wis.
The season's first winter storm is forecasted to blow in Friday, Nov. 18, with as much as a foot of snow, though eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin counties should escape the brunt of it.
The National Weather Service issued a blizzard and winter storm watch for western and northern Minnesota, with difficult to impossible driving conditions possible by late Friday morning.
The east metro, southeastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin are likely to receive less than an inch of snow, according to forecasts Wednesday afternoon.
The weather service predicts around a 50 percent chance of at least some snow in parts of Washington, Dakota, Goodhue, Pierce and St. Croix Counties.
The Twin Cities weather service office put out a video Wednesday with tips to stay safe during winter storms, such as having a winter survival kit in automobiles and adjusting travel plans if possible. Watch the video below:
