Tiger Sharks will host divisional meet this weekend

The New Richmond Tiger Sharks swam at Chippewa Falls last Saturday, showing drastic improvements in competing against five other teams.

This Saturday and Sunday the Tiger Sharks will be hosting the Western Division Meet at the New Richmond YMCA Friday Aquatic Center. Teams from Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls and La Crosse will send teams with swimmers ages 10 and under swimming on Saturday and swimmers ages 11 and older swimming on Sunday. Since this is a stepping stone to the conference meet, this promises to be a weekend filled with fast swims and improved times.

People are invited to come watch this swim meet, there is no admission charge. Events begin at 10:30 a.m. both days.

In last weekend's meet, 14 of the 18 Tiger Sharks dropped times in at least half of their events. Those making the greatest improvements were Tina Montpetit, who lowered her time in the 50-yard freestyle by 13 seconds, and Thomas Tenner, who dropped 15 seconds in the 100-yard freestyle. Others who made significant drops were Connor Edling and Phoebe Hall in the 50-yard breaststroke and Alison Nichols in the 25-yard backstroke.
