Tiger apparel just a click away

Showing school pride just got a little easier. The National Honor Society at New Richmond High School has opened a new online Tiger clothing and accessories store.

According to Trish Moberg, Honor Society advisor, the online approach to offering school apparel is catching on fast.

"We're trying to promote positive school spirit," she said. "We want everyone to show their school pride."

About 20 orders have been placed with the clothing company already, and the store has yet to be promoted much. A flyer is going out with elementary students in the coming weeks.

The school continues to offer t-shirts and sweatshirts on site, and the various sports teams have different suppliers of items. The online store is designed to make access to New Richmond items easier for anyone outside the school, Moberg said.

"This is more for the general public," she said. "You'd be surprised at the number of people who call, around Christmas especially, looking for something."

Because the National Honor Society doesn't have to deal with inventory, Moberg said a wide variety of special items are available through the store. Customized duffle bags, backpacks, blankets, water bottles and hats are available to the online shopper.

There are clothing items for adults, youth and infants.

Shoppers have several shipping options available to them. They can select faster delivery methods, or pay as little as $1 for shipping to the school within two weeks.

Customers pay with a credit card online, Moberg said, and the site is secure.

"It's just like ordering on Amazon," she said.

NHS puts a small mark-up on the products sold online. The money raised helps the organization offer scholarships and provides funding for various service projects throughout the year.

"We don't make money for the sake of making money," Moberg said. "We try to do things to give back to the school."

Moberg said she's excited about the ease of the online store and hopes the public takes advantage of the offering.

Moberg added the Internet company the district is dealing with does not have a return policy. Moberg encouraged those unhappy with an order to call her at school to arrange a refund or return.

"We're trying to make everybody happy here," she said.

The New Richmond School Store can be accessed through a link on the district's web site, or via the company web site,
