Hudson woman charged with attempted homicide

A Hudson woman, who was charged with attempted homicide in a stabbing incident with her boyfriend, was ordered to post a $150,000 cash bail this week.

Amy Lu Antoinette Christmas, 24, 637 13th St. S., made an initial appearance in St. Croix County Circuit Court Jan. 22 on felony charges of attempted first-degree intentional homicide and aggravated battery and misdemeanor bail jumping.

Christmas was charged following a morning altercation Jan. 17 with Michael John Marquard, 22, in a Hudson apartment.

Marquard told police he was in bed at about 9:15 a.m. when he got into an argument with Christmas and she allegedly stabbed him a number of time in the upper body. Christmas said Marquard allegedly put her in a choke hold in the kitchen and she broke free, took and knife and stabbed him, the criminal complaint said.

Marquard was treated for his wounds at Regions Hospital in St. Paul and released Jan. 18, court records said. Christmas had posted bond on a child neglect charge on Dec. 27. Last Thursday she waived her right to a speeding preliminary hearing on the felony charges and the court set a status conference for Feb. 4.
