Sheriff's Web site displays stolen items

Victims of burglaries in St. Croix County and the east metro area can view stolen items and identify their belongings.

A joint burglary investigation by the St. Croix County Sheriff's Department, city of Bayport Police Department and Washington County Sheriff's Department has recovered hundreds of suspected stolen items.

The items range from power hand tools to home interior items believed taken from model homes, according to the St. Croix County Sheriff's department.

The suspects were involved in burglaries for more than a year and may have committed burglaries as far back as 2001.

Areas targeted are mainly in the east metro area and western Wisconsin.

Confirmed burglaries committed by the suspects are from model homes, storage units, construction sites and general residential and business burglaries, the sheriff said.

A Web site has been developed to show the seized property. Victims should visit and follow the link for the burglary investigation.

A showing of the property is planned for Feb. 7 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Bayport Police Department and St. Croix County Sheriff's Department. Victims of a burglary are urged to contact the agency where the crime was reported and obtain a case report or detailed list of stolen items.

Any victim from Wisconsin who wants to see the stolen property firsthand should contact investigator Jim Mikla, St. Croix County Sheriff's Department, at (715)-381-4319 or
