$5,000 award comes at a good time

Stephanie McGee thought a friend was playing a practical joke on her when she heard that she won $5,000 in AnchorBank's Five Grand Contest.

"I was so surprised and excited," said Stephanie. "My husband and I just got married so we're going to save this money to put toward our reception."

With AnchorBank's real-time online banking, Stephanie was able to look online and see that a deposit of $5,000 had been made into her savings account.

"My husband didn't believe me," said Stephanie. "I couldn't wait to show him that it was already in our account."

According to AnchorBank, there were more than 6,000 entries made either online, in person at an AnchorBank location or by mail.

"We were thrilled to see how many people took part in the contest," said First Vice President of Marketing Chris Schell. "This was our chance to encourage people to come in and see what's new at AnchorBank since the merger with S&C Bank, and people really seemed to be excited about the contest."

Stephanie McGee was the grand prize winner of the contest, but 13 additional contestants won $100.

The winners included: Nathaniel Fry, Kenna Swiggum, Debbie Klein, Dawn Hazzard and Roger Sabby from New Richmond; Dorothy Robert and Michelle Anderson from Osceola; Max Neuhaus and Jensrud Transport from River Falls; William Perron from Dresser; David Olson from Somerset; Jan Pederson from Siren and Robert Swircek from Hudson.

AnchorBank acquired S&C Bank in February and has introduced an expanded line of products and services to customers, such as real-time banking, student lending and 76 locations throughout Wisconsin.

Founded in 1919, AnchorBank is one of the state's largest financial institutions with 76 locations throughout Wisconsin.
