Library is crawling with summer bugs

We are crawling with bugs!

Stop by to see our live ant farm and watch our hungry caterpillars eating and growing.

Thank you to the Berends family for bringing in the chrysalis that we have in the display case. It will be exciting to see what type of butterfly or moth hatches from it.

We have many children who have "Caught the Reading Bug" and have completed their ten hours of reading. We even have some that have completed the requirements twice.

Last week we provided a "Bug Club" craft project. Children had the choice whether to make a spider, caterpillar, lady bug or bug club sign craft.

Last Thursday evening we had a great turnout for our henna art and face painting with Zaney Janey from Check It Out despite the severe weather sirens going off just as we were getting started!

The new Building Fund-raising Committee will meet Monday, July 21, from 6-7 p.m.

If you are interested in helping the Fund-raising committee they will be meeting at Badlands Golf Course every other Monday to plan the Fund-raising golf outing scheduled for Sept. 13. They are also accepting donations for prizes for this event.

Contact Katy Kapaun 749-3345 or the library for more information.

What's new

Here is a list of a few new adult non-fiction books: "A Memoir by Larry McMurtry," "Escape from Andersonville," by Gene Hackman, "Fuzzy Navel," by J.A. Konrath and "Midnight Twins," by Jacquelyn Mitchard.

Stop by to check out the other new selections; we have too many to list!

Computer games

"Jump Start," "Blue's Clues," "Dr. Seuss," "Getting Ready for Kindergarten," Disney's "Cars" and "Shrek" are a few of the titles.
