John Donahue, 87

John Donahue, "Jim", age 87, of Erin Prairie, Wis., died peacefully on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008 at The Deerfield surrounded by his family.

He was born on Oct. 23, 1920 to John and Agnes (LaVelle) Donahue.

Jim was a 67-year Charter Member of the New Richmond Knights of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his wife Edie (Beam); daughter, Mary Jo; brothers, Frank and Paul.

He is survived by his children, John (Ruby), Geri (Phil) DeStasio, Dan (Pam), Jean (Jim) Christian, Patrice (Al) Taft, Peter (Vanessa), Debbie, Janet (Ted) Bliven; brothers Pat (Helen), Tom (Joanne); sisters, Mary Hoffman, Marguerite (Don) Maloney, Helen Hintz; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Mass of Christian Burial was at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 29, 2008 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Erin Prairie, Wis., officiated by Father James Brinkman, Father Leonard Fraher and Father Jack Donahue. Music by Mike Murtha, Maureen Brunner, Patrick Donahue, Mr. Swanson and Phil DeStasio. Pallbearers were John Donahue, Darren Donahue, Scott DeStasio, Mike Christian, Mitch Bliven, Alex Taft, Brian Bliven and Max Donahue. Visitation was 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the church and also one hour prior to the service.
