SHS students busy preparing for play
The Somerset High School Drama is busy preparing for their upcoming performance of "A Funny Thing Happened On the Way To the Colosseum" by Craig Sodaro.
The play is a light-hearted comedy about Simplcuss, a poor cow herder, who decides to go off to Rome to seek his fortune as a stand-up comic. Upon his arrival he is mistaken for the famed gladiator Terribulus and things really heat up.
The laughs turn up higher as Simplcuss finds himself deeper and deeper in trouble. To find out the fate of poor Simplcuss you'll have to come and see for yourself.
As for now, the lights are being set, microphones are tuning in, sound effects recording, sewing machines humming, the paint is being brushed and the cast is moving closer and closer to perfecting their character roles.
It looks like it's going to be another great show for Somerset High School Drama! Plan to attend the performances, on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 13 and 14 at 7 p.m., or Sunday, Nov. 16, at 1:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the door for $5. There will be a brief intermission with refreshments during the show.
