UW-River Falls Band, Horn Choir to perform in River Falls
Two University of Wisconsin-River Falls music groups, the University Band and the Horn Choir, will be giving a joint fall concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23.
The concert will take place in the Abbott Concert Hall of the Kleinpell Fine Arts Center on the UWRF campus. Both ensembles are directed by faculty member Andrew Parks.
The University Band is a brand-new ensemble which is made up of both university students and community members from the western Wisconsin and Twin Cities Metro area.
Among other pieces, they will play Malcom Arnold's "Prelude, Siciliano and Rondo" and Gustav Holst's "Second Suite."
The Horn Choir is also a new group as of this fall. They will perform several traditional pieces for large horn ensemble, including an arrangement by UWRF graduate Sana Wressel of the popular song "Bohemian Rhapsody."
The concert is free and open to the public. For information, call Andy Parks at (715) 425-3177.
