Schachtner defeats Jarchow in special election

Local Willow River Players prepare for new production

New Richmond residents Darla Wheeler, Bill Leahy, Gina Postman, Robert Bauer, Darryl Boyland, Heidi Marsh and George Gfall are among the cast members of "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change."

The show is being directed by the multi-talented New Richmond businesswoman, Carla Kelley of Deer Park, who is well known to community theatre in western Wisconsin. Bill Leahy, no stranger to Willow River Players in productions such as "South Pacific" and "Plaid Tidings," is the musical director.

Also of New Richmond is Betsy Germain, who is the choreographer.

Other cast members include Cindy Brown of Roberts, Carla Kelly of Deer Park, Ambrosia Webb of Hudson, Ellen Rominski of Woodville, and Jean Martinson from White Bear Lake, Minn. Stage manager Woody Davidson is from River Falls.

This adult comedy is a rollicking throwback to a nearly extinct theatrical genre: the musical revue. With book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro and music by Jimmy Roberts, "I Love You..." is a delightfully entertaining, charmingly fresh, hopelessly romantic musical joyride through the jungle of modern love.

The play runs Fridays, Dec. 5 and 12, Saturdays, Dec. 6 and 13, all with 7:30 p.m. shows and Sundays, Dec. 7 and 14, at 2 p.m. Shows are at the New Richmond High School Little Theater located on the south side of the school off Highway GG. There will be general seating, but tickets may be reserved by calling 715-246-1028 or at Sweet Greetings in downtown New Richmond. Check out for more information.
