Fire destroys barn, pole shed in rural New Richmond
The fire was still smoldering on the Gottfried and Emma Lamers farm in rural New Richmond Tuesday morning, days after a blaze destroyed a barn and pole shed on the property.
New Richmond Fire Department crews were called out to the fire around 3 a.m. Saturday morning. By the time they arrived, the structure was fully engulfed in flames.
The Deer Park Fire Department also responded with one engine and two tankers of water. The Somerset Fire Department also helped out with a tanker of water.
The barn wasn't in use in recent years, so there were few things of value lost in the blaze.
The attached pole shed had some hay stored inside, which quickly went up in flames once ignited.
