Fire crews respond to house fire in Star Prairie

Firefighter fight a blaze in Star Prairie

A fire at 2218 Highway 65 in Star Prairie Township on Tuesday morning destroyed a brand new pump house and front entry way.

Mike Smith, who lives in the home owned by Deb Bell, said he had no idea the house was on fire until people were there telling him to get out.

"Someone driving by saw the smoke and called 911," he said. "I'm glad they did."

Smith was home with Bell's two dogs when the fire fighters arrived, he said. No one was injured in the blaze.
