UPDATE: Winter weather warning issued for St. Croix County and region
Now they're talking business. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for St. Croix County.
The warning will be in effect from 9 a.m. Thursday until midnight Thursday night. The winter storm watch is no longer in effect.
The National Weather Service officials said to expect snow to develop in east central Minnesota, and will spread across west central Wisconsin. The snow could become heavy at times, especially around noon and into the mid afternoon. The snow will continue into the evening hours, tapering to flurries or ending by late evening.
Accumulations could reach six inches or more by Thursday evening. Increasing north to northwest winds will cause some blowing and drifting snow, the NWS said, especially Thursday afternoon and evening.
A possibility of a mixture of freezing rain and snow still exists across extreme south central Minnesota Thursday morning, the NWS reports.
