Somerset man charged in abduction attempt
A town of Somerset man faces three felony charges in connection with the alleged attempted abduction of a young woman last week.
Jason John Alwin, 22, 5641 215th Ave., appeared in St. Croix County Circuit Court Monday afternoon from jail on charges of abduction of a child, child enticement and false imprisonment.
Alwin's initial appearance was adjourned until Tuesday afternoon. He was being held on $25,000 cash bond.
The criminal complaint alleged on April 8 Alwin grabbed a 16-year-old girl who was walking on 118th Street about 9:30 a.m.
The girl allegedly punched the would-be attacker in the face and he ran off. Sheriff's deputies later apprehended Alwin at gunpoint after he came running out of the woods.
