Bennett says she's not after top UW women's basketball job
Former Indiana University's women's basketball coach Kathi Bennett insists she's not out to take Lisa Stone's job at the University of Wisconsin someday.
Stone hired Bennett to be run her defense and help with all other parts of the Badger program.
Thursday, Bennett told reporters she only wants to be an assistant at this point in her life and it's the truth, even if others don't want to believe it.
Stone has three years left on her contract and after an underachieving season, athletic director Barry Alvarez told Stone he wants better results next year.
Kathi Bennett, daughter of former Badger men's coach Dick Bennett, led the Hoosiers for five years. She also coached seven years at UW-Oshkosh, leading the Titans to the national Division 3 title in 1996.
Bennett has been out of coaching for about three years.
