Deer Park man injured in truck, train collision

On Tuesday, Oct. 29, a 19-year-old man driving a manure truck was injured when the truck failed to yield for a train near Glenwood City, according to the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office.

Anthony Minke, of Deer Park, was driving east on 150th Avenue when the truck was struck by a northbound Canadian National Railway train at the intersection with Sandy Creek Road.

Minke was taken to an Eau Claire hospital with undetermined injuries.

The truck he was driving belonged to Lofty Acres and had a 2,000-gallon tank. After being struck by the train, the truck rolled into the ditch and the tank was pushed down the tracks. The tank leaked a minimal amount of manure into the creek bed.

The accident was reported at 12:53 p.m. on Tuesday.

According to the Sheriff’s office, there are yield signs at the intersection where the train collided with the truck.
