Somerset man, 39, killed in motorcycle crash

Authorities said alcohol appeared to be a factor in a Sunday motorcycle crash that claimed the life of a Somerset man.

According to the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office, 39-year-old Jason Thomas Anderson was killed while exiting Highway 35/64 near Exit 9 in the town of Somerset.

Deputies responded at 12:48 a.m. to the single-vehicle crash and an airlift was called in shortly after. The helicopter never made the transport.

According to deputies, Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene by the St. Croix County medical examiner. Anderson, who had been ejected from the motorcycle during the crash, was not wearing a helmet.

“Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash,” according to a sheriff’s department news release.

The crash, which represents the eighth traffic fatality of the year in St. Croix County, remains under investigation.
