UPDATE: passengers ID'd in Roberts crash
A River Falls woman was killed and three others were injured Sunday afternoon in a head-on collision on Highway 65 in Roberts.
The driver of a second car, 18-year-old Eau Claire resident Cody D. Carlson, was taken to Hudson Hospital before being transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul. He was listed in good condition on Monday.
Two 26-year-old passengers in Carlson’s car - a male and a female - were also taken to Regions. They were identified Monday as Natasha S. Normand, Chippewa Falls, and Brandon S. Judge, Eau Claire.
Judge was listed in critical condition on Monday, while Normand was listed in serious condition.
Judge was the only one of the four people involved in the crash not wearing a seat belt.
Sheriff’s Capt. Jeff Klatt said in a news release that a witness reported seeing Carlson’s vehicle cross the centerline and strike Britton’s car head-on.
The crash - the 12th auto fatality this year in St. Croix County was reported at 12:45 p.m. on Highway 65 about a quarter-mile south of Wagner Drive in Roberts. The highway was shut down for about five hours while authorities investigated.
The crash remains under investigation.
Deputies were assisted at the scene by Roberts-Warren fire and rescue members, United Fire-Hammond, New Richmond EMS, St. Croix EMS, Roberts police and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
