UPDATE: Amery teen dies of injuries suffered in Friday crash
Marissa Hope Greenebaum, an Amery teenager involved in a Friday, May 27, crash on Hwy. 46 NB at 120th Avenue in Polk County near Amery, died late Friday of injuries suffered in the crash.
Kenneth Maynard Riebe, a Baldwin man driving a cement truck owned by a New Richmond business, struck the vehicle operated by Greenebaum just after 9 a.m. last Friday.
The details of the crash are as follows:
At approximately 9:18 a.m., the Wisconsin State Patrol, Spooner Post, received a report of a personal injury crash on STH-46 at 120th Avenue, near Amery.
A 2000 Mack cement pumping truck owned by R and S Concrete Pumping Service of New Richmond and operated by Riebe, struck the 2002 Jeep Wrangler operated by 17-year-old Greenebaum from behind.
Greenebaum's injuries required she be airlifted to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minn. Riebe was uninjured. According to a release from the Wisconsin State Patrol, Greenebaum died of her injuries later that evening.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and alcohol was not involved.
The crash remains under investigation.
