More layoffs announced for Andersen Windows in Menomonie
Andersen Windows will be laying off 55 employees temporarily at the company's plant in the Stout Technology Park in Menomonie, Wis.
According to Maureen McDonough, Andersen's director of corporate communications, the layoffs will take effect immediately with 15 of layoffs being voluntary.
"We expect the layoff to be around 12 weeks," said McDonough. She added that the company normally has layoffs in the winter months.
"This is winter and this is a seasonal business," McDonough said.
However, she did note that this year's temporary layoffs are larger than in the past.
The Menomonie plant has around 125 workers and produces the company's 200 series window. In November, 52 workers were permanently laid off from the plant.
Andersen Windows is based in Bayport.
