Bank robbery suspect arrested on I-94

The City of Portage Police Department in Columbia County, Wis. requested assistance in locating a 2003 black Toyota Corolla that was suspected in being involved in a bank robbery that occurred in the City of Portage Thursday, July 18.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., a Wisconsin State Trooper located the vehicle traveling eastbound on I-94 near mile marker 108 in Jackson County. With the assistance of the Jackson Co. Sheriffs Department, a traffic stop was conducted about two miles east of Black River Falls near mile marker 117 on I-94.

The driver who was the lone occupant in the vehicle was taken into custody without incident. The suspect was transported to the Jackson County jail where they will remain held until turned over to the City of Portage Police Department.

The name of the suspect is being withheld at this time pending the investigation by the City of Portage Police Department.
