Men charged in release of rodents

A pair of young men in New Richmond were charged with a crime related to releasing rodents in local businesses.

Daniel Birt Curran, 19, and William Francis Curran, 25, both of New Richmond, appeared in St. Croix County Circuit Court Thursday, Nov. 14. They pleaded innocent to disorderly conduct charges and posted signature bonds.

The criminal complaint alleged Daniel Curran released a black and white mouse in McDonalds restaurant on Apr. 19.

In a separate incident April 22, William Curran allegedly placed a mouse in the Ronald McDonald donation box in the drive-up window. William also allegedly release three mice onto the cheese in the cheese cooler at Walmart that same day.

A pre-trial conference was scheduled for Dec. 10 for both men.
