Glenwood City man charged with possessing child porn

Child pornography charges were handed down this week against a Glenwood City man accused of soliciting underage sex elsewhere in Wisconsin.

Joseph R. Brabeck, 64, made his initial appearance Tuesday in St. Croix County Circuit Court, where he is charged with three counts of child porn possession and one count of using a computer to facilitate a child sex crime.

St. Croix County Circuit Court Judge Michael Waterman ordered Brabeck held on a $25,000 cash bond. Another bail hearing was set for Wednesday, March 9.

Brabeck was charged last year in Chippewa County with second-degree attempted sexual assault of a child and child enticement following a sting arranged by authorities there. Communicating online with an undercover police officer, Brabeck allegedly arranged in October 2015 for a nude photo shoot and sex acts with a 14-year-old girl. He was arrested in Chippewa Falls with Viagra, condoms, an iPhone and a digital camera in his vehicle, according to a Chippewa County criminal complaint.

Authorities confiscated his home computer in Glenwood City after the arrest. According to a St. Croix County criminal complaint, forensic examination of his hard drives revealed two hour-long videos of naked girls between the ages of 8 and 10. A photo of a nude prepubescent girl was also discovered, the complaint states.
