Osceola man arrested in connection to Sunday shooting
On Sunday, May 15, at 12:48 a.m., the Polk County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a male subject had been shot at a residence in the 2000 block of 75th Avenue/CTH M.
Deputies responded to this call and their investigation found that Daniel D. Wenholz, 42, of Osceola, had been shot in the leg after a confrontation at the residence where Wenholz resided. The other party involved in this incident, Jeremy R. Wilson, 40, of Osceola, was still on scene rendering aid to Wenholz when deputies arrived.
Wenholz was transported to Osceola Medical Center by Osceola Ambulance and taken by air ambulance to Regions Hospital for treatment of his gunshot injuries.
Jeremy Wilson was placed under arrest and transported to the Polk County Jail on criminal charges stemming from this incident.
The incident remains under investigation by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
