A Deer Park man is scheduled be arraigned on child-sex assault charges this week in St. Croix County.
Mark Allen Miller was being held in St. Croix County jail on $100,000 cash bond after being charged with two counts of first-degree child-sex assault. An arraignment hearing for the 66-year-old was set for Friday, July 7.
According to a criminal complaint:
A St. Croix County Sheriff's Office investigator took a report of children having been sexually assaulted by Miller.
A girl who knows Miller said in an interview with the investigator that he had groped her sexually in recent days. That was preceded by a November 2016 incident when he touched the girl sexually, she reported.
A male child, who also knows Miller, reported being molested as well. The boy said he felt like he couldn't get away during one of the incidents and told Miller to stop, which he did not.
Investigators interviewed Miller. When confronted about touching the girl sexually during the November 2016 incident, he said he "might have went too far, but not on purpose."
Miller admitted to touching a third child's private parts, "but not in a sexual manner," the complaint states he said. Asked why he was faced with reports of him being in the presence of partially nude children, Miller told the investigator, "these kids, they do it for fun."
"The defendant said that he was guilty of 'letting fun be fun' and being affectionate," the complaint states.
