Widiker starts at SCC

Tim Widiker began working as the St. Croix Central School district's new superintendent on June 17. He said he is looking forward to the start of the new school year.

St. Croix Central's new school District Superintendent Tim Widiker has started his duties. Widiker's official first day was June 17.

"Things are going great," Widiker said of his first few weeks in the position. "I've really been impressed with the staff I've met."

Widiker said it has been easy for him to step into the position, despite the challenges the district has faced lately, especially with the fire restoration efforts ongoing at St. Croix Central Elementary, thanks to work put in by his predecessor, David Bradley.

"It's running smoothly," Widiker said, "So basically my involvement has been attending the meetings and basically being kept up to date."

Widiker comes to SCC with 11 years experience as principal for fifth through 12th grade in Webster. He was selected as administrator through a statewide search which included a pool of more than 20 applicants.

Widiker spent several days this past week meeting with the district's administrators, planning and preparing for the next school year.

Widiker said he is looking forward to school starting in the fall.

"(There are) definitely a lot of great things going on," Widiker said. "(I'm) just looking forward to keeping the train rolling down the tracks toward continual improvement."
