SCC names academic letter winners

The following seniors received an academic award at a ceremony at St. Croix Central High School on Feb. 17. Seniors receive this award after successfully meeting the eligibility criteria for the first semester of their senior year. Senior recipients were given an academic excellence medal to recognize their accomplishments.

Thirteen seniors were awarded a “4 Year Letter Winner Plaque” for academic excellence. To earn this award, the senior must have met the eligibility criteria for all four years of high school. Eighteen seniors received the academic award for more than one year and four seniors received the academic award for the first time.

Eligibility criteria for the award includes:

  • Participating students must be in 9th-12th grade.
  • A student must have a 3.33/ 4.0 GPA (B+) or better for each semester of an academic year.
  • The student must take six classes per semester with the exception of students enrolled in youth options.
  • Students who wish to study abroad will not be eligible for an academic letter while abroad.
  • Home schooled students are not eligible.

Sarah Nigbor

Sarah J. Nigbor serves as a regional editor for RiverTown Multimedia, a position she began in April 2017. She joined RiverTown Multimedia in October 2013 as a news reporter for the New Richmond News, before being appointed editor of the Pierce County Herald in Febraury 2015. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Spanish and French in 2001. She completed a minor in journalism in 2004.
