Badger Boy and Badger Girl 2014

St. Croix Central High School’s Sadie Buckel and Jacob Lindberg will attend Badger Boys and Badger Girls Camp this year. (Submitted photo)

Each year St. Croix Central sends one student to Badger Boys camp and one student to Badger Girls camp. These camps are funded by local American Legion Post 432 and its auxiliary.

The Badger Boys and Badger Girls camps consist of about 2,000 young men and women from every part of Wisconsin. Upon arrival at the college campus, the students will be grouped into cities and counties, which will form a 51st state. For eight days the citizens of the new state will form and carry out the main functions of state government using the basic laws of the State of Wisconsin.

This program is to teach our young adults that the American form of government is stronger and more vital in today's world struggles than ever before.

The American Legion Post 432 will send Jacob Lindberg to the Boys’ Camp and the American Legion Auxiliary will send Sadie Buckel to the Girls’ Camp. Jacob is the son of Mike and Beth Lindberg of Roberts, and Sadie is the daughter of Chris and Jonalee Buckel of Hammond.
