On Friday, March 28, students at Starr Elementary met in the gym to present their History and Literacy Fair projects to their fellow students, families and teachers.
Kindergarten through fifth-grade students were able to participate in the fair. They were allowed to choose a topic or find a book, read it, and create some type of display (diorama, tri-fold board, etc.). High school students judged the projects by walking around and asking youngsters about their them. All the reading and work was done at home.
All the participants got a certificate and prize. There were five prizes given out for "Outstanding Entry" which were determined by staff votes.
