“Moonlight Over Paris” is the New Richmond High School Prom theme this year; students will enjoy Parisian themed decorations, hors d’oeuvres, desserts and entertainment through the events planned for the day.

The NRHS Prom Royalty 2014 includes king candidates Connor McCann, Keilan Mehls, Tanner Wisemiller and Shane Blackman; and queen candidates Mattie Kidder, Megan Chelberg, Alicia Brugler and Sydney Kannel.

Grand March starts at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, in the high school auditorium. Tickets for Grand March spectators are $5 and will be available all week during thestudents’ lunch hour, and starting at 2:30 p.m. the day of the march. This year’s Prom Court will be introduced before the march begins. Master of ceremonies this year is senior Drake Winberg.

Students participating in the march will be ushered to the Commons once their tour of the stage is complete. They will then have the chance to view the rest of the event on the large screen while having photographs taken by Nate Peterson and enjoying hors d’oeuvres with a French flair in the annual Grand March Reception.

At the conclusion of the Grand March, the new 2014 Prom King and Queen will be crowned, with the reintroduction of last year’s royalty Michael Bakke and Erika Bohmke.

Students will cruise the St. Croix River on The Andiamo from 9 p.m. to midnight. Students must drive themselves to the boat landing in Stillwater and be checked in by the chaperones by 8:30 p.m. Students will then dance, play in the riverboat casino (where they can win fabulous prizes), eat gourmet dessert (starting at 10:30 p.m.), have their portraits taken by Willow River photography and have fun with a Snapz photo booth for the rest of the night.
