WITC-NR graduates 206 in 2013 ceremony

The Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College campus in New Richmond held their spring graduation ceremony May 17.

A total of 206 graduates participated in the commencement ceremony. Campus Administrator Joseph Huftel presided over the ceremony.

The colors were posted by the Tri-county EMS Association Honor Guard, and Divisional Dean of Continuing Education Susan Yohnck-Lockwood sang the national anthem.

Speakers included the 2013 Foundation Ambassador Kevin Peterson, who graduated with his technical diploma from the Agricultural Power and Equipment Technician Program Peterson is the son of Roger and Bev Peterson of rural River Falls.

Medical Assistant instructor Kim Suo spoke on behalf of the 2013 Distinguished Alumni, Marge Belisle, who was unable to attend the ceremony due to a conflict with her own graduation ceremony at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, where she was being honored with her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree. Belisle is a 1979 graduate of WITC's Medical Assistant Program.

Diplomas and degrees were handed out by WITC Board of Trustees representatives Morrie Veilleux and James Beistle.
