New Richmond City Council approves street projects

The New Richmond City Council recently approved the 2015 and 2016 Street and Utility Projects. Preliminary planning work is beginning now. Over the next two months, you will see utility companies and surveyors marking lines and collecting data, as well as a drilling truck collecting soil boring information. Please use caution when using these roads while crews are out completing their work. Streets included in these projects are as follows:

2015: 115th Street from CTH A to 175th Avenue, 175th Avenue from 115th Street to 112th Street, and High Street/North Pierson Street from the railroad tracks to the Lakeside Foods entrance.

2016: North Starr Avenue, East Hughes Street, Paperjack Drive, East River Drive, West River Drive, Fairfield Road, Summit Road, and North Shore Drive.

Project design work for the 2015 projects will be completed this summer, with construction beginning in the fall. An exact starting date for construction has yet to be determined. Prior to the start of construction, the City will provide more detailed information at a public informational meeting for residents living along these streets.

In addition, project design work for the 2016 projects will be completed in 2015, with construction planned for 2016, pending City Council approval. The City will hold a public informational meeting for residents living along these streets to ask questions and provide input that may be incorporated into the design. If you have ideas, suggestions, or questions, the City wants to hear from you!

Please watch the City of New Richmond's website and follow us on Facebook or Twitter for continuing updates this summer. Residents who live along these streets should also watch their mailboxes for letters. If you have any further questions, please contact Jeremiah Wendt, Public Works Director, at 715-246-4268 or jwendt@newrichmondwi.gov.
