Star Prairie Village Board approves 2016 Compliance Maintenance Annual Report
Star Prairie Village Trustees approved a resolution Wednesday, May 1 to move the 2016 Compliance Maintenance Annual Report (CMAR) on to the Department of Natural Resources for approval.
The CMAR is the annual report that evaluates the condition of the village's wastewater treatment facility and practices. In the absence of current Village Maintenance Operator, Bob Anez, having the necessary Wisconsin Waterworks and Wastewater Operator certifications, the report was prepared by former Maintenance Operator, Brody Larson, with the help of Stevens Engineer, Angela Popenhagen. The Village continues to pay Larson on an hourly basis for his assistance until Anez can obtain the required certifications. The DNR requires that the Village have a person with the proper certifications on staff.
• Trustees approved $750 for Don's Sweeper Service to clean the village streets.
• In an effort to discourage non-residents from using the Village's yard waste disposal site at 603 Hill Ave., trustees elected to construct a gate and regulate the hours the site will be open to the public. Starting shortly, the site will be open Saturday morning through Sunday evening only or by appointment.
• Trustees moved the July board meeting date to 7 p.m. July 12.
