Rebecca M. Soderstrom is running for a seat on the St. Croix Central School District Board of Education in the April 7 election.



Name: Rebecca M. Soderstrom

Age: 35

Occupation: Bus driver for the St. Croix Central School District. Was previously an optician for 14 years.

Family: My husband Derek and I live in Roberts, with our four children, Derek, is a freshman at the high school, Elizabeth is in kindergarten at the Elementary, Warren is in four-year-old kindergarten, and Carolanne will be going to four-year-old kindergarten in the fall. Our children keep us busy attending cross country meets, dance, basketball and track. We are members of Cross Lutheran Church in Roberts. Our entire family are members of Post 121, American Legion Auxiliary, Junior Auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion in River Falls and are active throughout the State and National Levels.

Clubs, organizations and civic involvement: I have been first Vice-President, second Vice-President, Poppy chairman/ Americanism. I spent eight years traveling with a state President, learning the different organization and assisting veterans.

Why would you like to serve on the St. Croix Central School Board?: I want to serve on the school board because I want to participate in our school and community. I would like to be involved in progressive changes in our schools. My son’s class is one of the largest classes within the school system. I see the need due to growth to have an active parent on the school board and feel like I would qualify.
