City to hold public engagement session for new library input

Any library is a reflection of its community and New Richmond is no exception. What a wonderful group of engaged citizens. Since I started at the library in 2014 I have been nothing but impressed over and over again with the passion and dedication our community puts into projects big and small. The St. Croix River Crossing is a prime example of what happens when hard work, dedication, and public input finally pay off.

What do you want your community to be? Come to the public engagement session on Thursday, Aug, 10 at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Civic Center at 156 East First St. We want your ideas and input as to what a new library will be at a new location.

Libraries are no longer repositories of books. Libraries are hubs of civic engagement and "community living rooms" — places where people come together to discuss the issues affecting their communities and the world.

We want our new library to be a true reflection of you — our community.
