Spooky times at the Centre
Calling all ghouls, goblins, witches, princesses and pirates! Whatever your costume this year, you and your family are invited to the Centre's ninth annual Halloween Spooktacular on Saturday, Oct. 28. The event is free.
The Halloween Spooktacular is a feature event and starts at 11 a.m. throughout the Centre. After registering your family, check out all of our spooky activities. There will be cookie decorating, crafts, inflatable bounce house and obstacle course, as well as Halloween games. When you hear growling, and you're sure it's your stomach, head to our concession stand for ghoulish treats.
Spooktacular includes multiple activities throughout the day. If treats and sweets are just not your thing, but you really like to show off your new superhero costume, join in one of our group exercise classes in the morning. Wear your costume and get entered to win fun prizes.
The first 5K of the Centre Racing Series will kick off at 9 a.m. Registration is at 8:30 a.m. and includes registration for all six Centre 5Ks as well as a long sleeve T-shirt. Wear your costumes in honor of the celebration.
Our morning activities also include the Spooky Scrimmage, a youth seven-on-seven flag football tournament for third- through eighth-graders. This tournament will be fun to play outside in the October weather and includes Gatorade, hot chocolate and lunch for participants. The tournament will start at 10 a.m.; preregistration is required.
The Pumpkin Carving Contest will test your creative skills. Completed pumpkins must arrive by 10:45 a.m. and Spooktacular attendees will judge from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. We'll award the best in show, spookiest and most creative pumpkin.
When you are ready, climb aboard the rustic hayride and travel around the block. This is a fun ride and a must on your to-do list for the day.
The Centre is located at 425 E. Fifth St., New Richmond.
